Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of transformational and transactional leadership styles on the performance of civil servants at the East Java Provincial Youth and Sports Office, while also assessing the mediating role of motivation or job satisfaction in forming this relationship. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory approach. The method employed in this study was a survey, where data was collected directly from respondents through a closed-ended questionnaire compiled based on predetermined indicators. Respondents in this study were civil servants (ASN) working within the East Java Provincial Youth and Sports Office (DISPORA). The sampling technique used a saturated sampling approach. The results of this study indicate that leadership style has a significant influence on the performance of civil servants at the East Java Provincial DISPORA Office.
