THE INFLUENCE OF LEADERSHIP AND WORK DISCIPLINE ON PERFORMANCE THROUGH WORK MOTIVATION OF EMPLOYEES AT THE TANJUNG PERAK CUSTOMS AND CUSTOMS SERVICES OFFICE

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the influence of leadership and work discipline on performance through work motivation of employees at the Tanjung Perak Customs and Excise Service Office. This study was quantitative, using census sampling techniques to obtain a sample of 140 employees. The results showed that leadership had a positive and significant effect on performance with a CR value of 2.9024842 and a probability value of 0.003  0.05. Work discipline had a positive and significant effect on performance with a CR value of 2.6090083 and a probability value of 0.003  0.05. Work motivation has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 2.0517824 and a probability value of 0.004  0.05 on Performance. Leadership has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 5.2981210 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Work Motivation. Work Discipline has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 10.4705052 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Work Motivation. The results of the Sobel test that have been carried out, the results of the study proved that Leadership has a positive and significant effect with a Sobel test value of 7.7007 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Performance through Work Motivation. The Sobel test results demonstrate that work discipline has a positive and significant effect, with a Sobel test score of 9.262 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05, on performance through work motivation at the Tanjung Perak Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office.
