The Role of the Department of Manpower (DISNAKER) in Mitigating Unemployment in Madiun City

Abstract

(Purpose) This study aims to analyze the role of the Department of Manpower (Disnaker) in reducing the unemployment rate in Madiun City. (Methods) The research method used is multiple linear regression analysis or panel data if annual data since 2021 is available. This allows us to test the significant effect of the Manpower Office’s intervention on the unemployment rate (TPT) and explain the variance in unemployment changes. The population in this study is all job seekers who participated in employment programs organized by the Madiun City Manpower Office (Disnaker) between 2021 and 2024. (Results) Based on the results of data analysis, this study concludes that the employment programs organized by the Madiun City Manpower Office (Disnaker) have a significant influence on reducing the open unemployment rate (TPT), both directly and indirectly through improving the quality of the workforce (employability).
