Abstract

Employee job satisfaction is an important aspect in the workplace that organizations need to pay attention to. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and work discipline on employee job satisfaction with compensation as an intervening variable. The sampling technique used is saturation sampling, so the sample consists of all employees of the Women and Children Protection Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD-PPA) under the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Protection in Minahasa Tenggara Regency, totaling 30 employees. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is linear regression, t-test, and Sobel test. Based on the results, emotional intelligence affects job satisfaction, as evidenced by the t-test result where the significance value is less than 0.05, which is 0.000. Work discipline affects job satisfaction, as evidenced by the t-test result where the significance value is less than 0.05, which is 0.031. Compensation affects job satisfaction, as evidenced by the t-test result where the significance value is less than 0.05, which is 0.000. Compensation cannot mediate the influence of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction, as evidenced by the Sobel test result where the significance value is greater than 0.05, which is 0.278. Compensation cannot mediate the influence of work discipline on job satisfaction, as evidenced by the Sobel test result where the significance value is greater than 0.05, which is 0.264.
