Analysis of the Application of Information Technology in Increasing the Efficiency of Financial Reporting in the Sidoarjo Regency Government

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze how the application of information technology can increase the efficiency of financial reporting in the Sidoarjo Regency Government. This research uses a qualitative approach, specifically using descriptive methods. The technique used to analyze data in this research is descriptive, more specifically using an interactive model. The implementation of the SIKSDA system (Sidoarjo Financial Information System) in the Sidoarjo Regency Government has provided a significant increase in financial reporting efficiency from 2017 to 2023. The integration of non-cash transactions and new features such as Electronic Signatures and automatic financial reporting has increased transparency, efficiency, and reliability in regional financial management. The SIKSDA system has facilitated financial reporting through an easy-to-use interface, standard e- templates and training support, thereby speeding up the internal and external reporting process. This strengthens the transparency and accountability of government financial management. To further increase the effectiveness of SIKSDA, solutions are needed such as increasing budget allocations for internet costs, hardware upgrades, and skilled human resources.
