The Influence of Competence and Work Environment on Employee Performance with Job Satisfaction as an Intervening Variable at the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Minahasa Tenggara Regency

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of competence and work environment on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The population of the study consists of all employees of the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Protection of Children, Women, and Child Protection in Minahasa Tenggara Regency, totaling 30 employees. The sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique, meaning that the entire population was used as the sample. Data analysis techniques included linear regression, t-tests, and Sobel tests. The results indicate that competence has an effect on employee performance. The work environment also affects employee performance. Job satisfaction impacts employee performance. Competence influences employee job satisfaction. The work environment affects job satisfaction. Job satisfaction mediates the relationship between competence and employee performance.
