Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the influence of competency and compensation on employee performance, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable, at the Middle Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office, Tanjung Perak, Surabaya. This study used a total sampling technique, meaning that the entire population was sampled, resulting in 189 respondents. Based on the results of the path analysis test that has been carried out, the results of the study prove that Competence has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 2.0500322 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Performance Compensation has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 2.6889298 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Performance. Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 3.3490859 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Performance. Competence has a positive and significant effect with a CR value of 3.3490859 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 on Job satisfaction. Compensation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with a CR value of 3.3490859 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05. Competence has a positive and significant effect on performance through job satisfaction with a Sobel test value of 2.8649 and a probability value of 0.002  0.05. Compensation has a positive and significant effect on performance through job satisfaction with a Sobel test value of 16.5247 and a probability value of 0.000  0.05 at the Tanjung Perak Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office
