THE ROLE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN EMPLOYEE WORK MOTIVATION: A CASE STUDY OF A PRIVATE COMPANY IN SURABAYA

Abstract
(Purpose) This research examines the role of transformational leadership in shaping employee performance motivation at PT Trufindo Asta Mandiri. The urgency of the research lies in the organization’s need to integrate inspiring leadership to encourage sustained work motivation. The focus of this research is how the practices of transformational leadership are applied and how they affect employee work motivation. (Methods) The method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through in- depth interviews, observations, and documentation. (Results) The research results show that the dimensions of transformational leadership, namely idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration are genuinely implemented and contribute to the increase in work motivation. (Implications) However, challenges were also found in the aspect of perceived fairness regarding the reward system. In conclusion, contextual application of transformational leadership supported by a fair management system can effectively optimize employee work motivation
