Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and discipline on employee performance at the Makassar Store in Pematangsiantar. A total of 30 employees were selected as research respondents. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches, where quantitative data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and statistical methods, while qualitative data were collected through interviews and observations to provide deeper insights. The findings indicate that work motivation and discipline have a significant and positive impact on employee performance. Employees with higher levels of motivation and stronger work discipline tend to demonstrate better job performance, particularly in terms of productivity, responsibility, and adherence to organizational rules. The study concludes that both motivation and work discipline play crucial roles in improving employee performance. These results are expected to provide valuable input for management in formulating strategies to enhance human resource effectiveness. The implication of this research is that management should focus on developing strategies to enhance motivation and strengthen work discipline through policies, training, and reward systems, thereby improving human resource effectiveness and increasing organizational competitiveness.
